Now in its fourth year the Fakenham 50 is expanding to cater for riders who want a gentle 15 mile morning jaunt and people who want the challenge of a stretching 100 miles. In between rides include 25, 36 and 62 miles.

The 2016 sportive is Bank Holiday Sunday 28th August.

Organiser, Richard Crook, said “we are thrilled to be able to offer such a great range of options. Whichever distance people have chosen in the past the feedback has been excellent; riders find the countryside and routes fun and stimulating and the team of volunteers who help out are renowned for their friendly and supportive attitude. We hope this year will be even better and show the North Norfolk countryside is perfect for cycling whatever the distance. We have lots of support from local people and clubs including the local cycling club the East Coast Riders”.

Jenny, who has volunteered for the last three years to run one of the feed stations half way round the route, says “it is always lots of fun. The riders a very friendly and pleasant people who are out to have a healthy and fun bank holiday. We hand out flapjack, fruit and drinks which are always welcomed. I am looking forward to the 2016 event”.

Feedback from riders has been very positive:
• Rebecca - Fantastic day very well organised and defo well worth the aches loved the family time
• James - A great day well organised and lovely flapjacks
• Helen - Terrific route, some lovely kind cyclists. Great day.

The fourth Fakenham 50 is a fun, social, cycle ride through some of the best cycling routes in the country. It’s gentle but has some challenges. It includes signage, mobile mechanics, a rescue service, our popular flapjack and fruit along the way and more. There is a barbecue, bar, live music, massage, and more in the Community Centre walled garden for an after ride relax or for non-riders who just want to chill and enjoy the sunshine. This is a local British Cycling Sportive.
