Oscar, the 7 year old golden retriever, has reached Scotland on his bike tour of the UK, travelling in a specially adapted bike trailer. He set off from Aldeburgh in March and expects to make it back there in August after completing some 5000 miles, averaging around 30 miles a day.

The trailer is being towed behind a back pedalled by Maggie Scorer, who was brought up in Orford. Maggie is a 65 year old mother of four and grandmother of eight, a landscape gardener, B&B owner, and ferry woman at Butley Ferry. Somehow she also finds time to sail.

There are two charities who stand to benefit from Oscar and Maggie’s bike tour, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and SANDS – the Stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Maggie’s aim is to raise £25,000.

You can help Maggie in her quest by visiting her fundraising link.
