For all the cycling dads out there, here’s something to subtly hint about to your kids, for an unusual and unique cycling related present for Father’s Day on 19th June.
Designer Sophie Kirkpatrick has founded a business called Atlas & I, with a wonderful collection of unique personalised gifts which would be ideal for this Father’s Day, which can be enjoyed and cherished forever. Sophie uses vintage maps to create her unique designs, ranging from leather stationery to silhouette artworks. All pieces are beautifully handmade to order in her London studio. Inspired by our great sporting and country heritage, this quintessentially British collection allows the customer to encapsulate a memory or tell a special story.
The bespoke leather stationery range is perfect for the father who likes to cherish his memories, with a selection of journals or photo albums; how about a journal with photos from sportives, the occasional audax, or touring ride, perhaps with print outs from Strava – the cycling possibilities are endless. Every leather cover is individually printed, hand-stitched and bound over soft Italian paper.
Explore the coveted assortment of leather accessories, which feature exclusive new products including the Luggage Tag, Hip Flask and Glasses Case, perfect for any father who loves travelling. I actually have a luggage tag underneath my saddle, with my “ICE” (In case of emergency) contact numbers, blood group and allergy information, just in case something nasty happens while I’m cycling alone – or in a group for that matter: friends who know me don’t necessarily know who to contact “ICE” or blood group, etc. So a personalised “luggage tag” can be a real statement of “I love you Dad”!
The Atlas & I artwork collection comprises of unique silhouette prints made by laser cutting the outline of his favourite pastime, memorable event or iconic scene in black card, overlaid on a reproductionvintage map. You can choose any vintage map location in the world for a truly special gift. Sophie is able to create silhouettes from photographs or you can simply choose from a comprehensive selection, which includes Cycling, and some other things that someone somewhere might be interested in, such as Sailing, Skiing, Golf, Rugby and others.
All of the Atlas & I pieces are skilfully handcrafted using a carefully sourced selection of the finest materials, to create gifts designed to last for many father’s days to come. The brand was born in 2011 through Sophie’s love of vintage maps, married with her creative eye and the need for unique gift ideas to give to her friends and family. Sophie takes inspiration from her love of the countryside and active lifestyle which plays out through many of her designs.
