Over the years, there have been many allegations of doping amongst top cyclists and a number of cyclists have failed drugs tests.
Then a matter of days ago, the first “mechanical doping” – or bike doping – case hit the headlines with a hidden motor in a cyclist’s spare bike.
Well, the guys at Flux Bikes have got mechanical doping down to an absolute art, with a hidden 250 Watt mid motor and a 36 Volt battery in the down tube, at first glance you would barely know this is an e-bike. But if you feel you need a bit of assistance weather on the commute or while out riding for leisure, the Flux bike can give you just that: they even have a YouTube clip of one of their Flux bikes towing a Toyota Prius.
The different models from this Californian company have been funded on Indiegogo, where their campaign is down to its final day and a bit: $728,000 raised against their target of just $50,000. Part of that will be down to the way they have run all aspects of their campaign, but part of it is surely down to the spec of their different bike models.
No wonder they called their campaign “Bikes with Attitude”.
