Bike Share schemes continue to spread around the world, with South America’s largest scheme with 8000 bikes and 680 stations deployed in a Brazilian Bike Share scheme. The more schemes the merrier, helping more people to cycle as their way to get to and from work, to and from the shops.

The new “tembici” scheme – which evokes “temporary” or shared and “bike”, though actually means “has bike” and Itaú Unibanco have chosen PBSC Urban Solutions technology for the renewal and major expansion of urban Brazilian bike share systems across the country, starting a few weeks away in September. Once all 8000 bikes are deployed, the tembici network will be the largest bike-sharing system in South America.
