Trek Travel has announced the debut of its Palm Springs & Joshua Tree Bike Tour.

Formed in 2002 as the luxury bicycle touring arm of Trek Bicycles, one of the world’s largest bicycle manufacturers, Trek Travel was voted a 2016 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Tour Operator. They have a team of globetrotters, world-travelers and dreamers who know how to inspire the memories guests have for the rest of their life. They find some great routes, hotels, towns, food, and attractions, and introduce them to people looking for adventure.

Each vacation includes the use of the latest Trek bicycles like the Domane SL 7 or XM700+ electric assist. These feature Garmin GPS devices and Di2 electronic shifting. Trek travel seeks out boutique accommodations, includes most meals and snacks and drinks for each day’s ride. They provide daily route support and offer social hours. Entrance fees to group events are included as is transportation during the tour. Tour riders also receive complimentary Trek Travel merchandise and more.

In addition to exploring the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park, guests will enjoy a private cycling tour of architecturally-significant Palm Springs homes. These include the former homes of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and the Kaufmann Desert House, a 70-year old masterwork of design and construction.

“This desert oasis is a perfect mid-winter destination,” says Trek Travel President Tania Burke, “with a unique opportunity to experience the high style of this retro town by bike.”

Guests will stay in an architecturally-significant setting as well, as they use Korakia Pensione as their base. This is a Moroccan villa originally named Dar Marroc that was built in 1924 and was the former hideaway of Scottish painter Gordon Coutts.

In addition to soaking up the mid-century modern elegance of Palm Springs, participants will have access to the region’s world-class natural resources.

Guests will visit a river in the desert at the Whitewater Preserve, take a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail, spend two full days in the stunning beauty of Joshua Tree National Park and marvel at towering palms and wildlife at a number of palm oases.

The five-day, four-night trip begins and ends in Palm Springs, CA and is priced from $2,999 per person. It is available January 21 – 25, January 28 – February 1, February 4 – 8, February 11 – 15 and February 18 – 22, 2018.

If you want to escape the cold of January and February, you contact Trek Travel at +1-866-464-8735 or visit them online.
