The 4th annual Eroica California will take place April 14-15 in beautiful Paso Robles. In addition to the classic vintage eroica cycling “ride to the ocean” event, Eroica California has added a new “race/ride” format for modern bikes, called the NOVA Eroica, open to all modern drop bar bikes and featuring timed race segments.
Only 200 start positions are available for the inaugural edition and are filling up fast, so you need to register quickly!
Even though there are some new things, Eroica cycling still celebrates the golden era of pro cycling and the enjoyment of the good life, touring through some of the best wineries of the Paso Robles area on four different routes.
The 40 mile Eroica cycling route is ideal for riders of all levels and leads through the wine country of Paso Robles while offering gravel ranch and vineyard roads of the Salinas River Valley.
The medium Eroica cycling route of 70 miles challenges riders through the Famous Kiler Canyon, and participants of the 87 and 127 miles routes are rewarded with exquisite gravel roads and a spectacular view of the Pacific ocean.
The event starts on April 14th with a festival program including the “Concours d’Elegance” an iconic vintage bike pageant as well as a vintage market to browse and relax.
Online registration for the Eroica Cycling California event is now open!

Giancarlo Brocci, the Founder of L’Eroica, explained “L’Eroica has never been about just recreating the past. It was originally launched as a “junket” – a “freebie” – for those who had participated in the “Gino Bartali” Granfondo, and it has always proposed routes that are tough, never just a ‘walk in the park’ for the cameras. In 2007, on 9 October, we proposed the Monte Paschi Eroica, the pro version of our event. Since then white roads have been reintroduced into the top echelons of the cycling world, including stages races and the memorable Giro d’Italia 2010 Carrara-Montalcino, with two segments of the permanent route of L’Eroica.”
