With regular pit stops along the route, chaperones, medical support and a half-way basecamp providing hot food, steaming showers and yoga classes the Dulux Trade London Revolution is undoubtedly one of the best-supported cycling events in the UK.
In an unforgettable weekend, more than 2,000 cyclists of all ages, levels and abilities will ride 185 miles around the capital, with the option to stay overnight at the basecamp at Ascot Racecourse.
It is an inclusive event designed for all levels of riders with everything for everyone.
There is full support before, during and after the weekend. From training plans and nutrition advice to a signposted route, mechanics, medics, regular pit stops and route timing, everything is taken care of. At the base camp, there is tented accommodation, delicious hot food, showers, massages, live music and bars for those who choose to stay overnight to enjoy.
Cyclists will pass iconic London landmarks, ride along hidden green lanes and through picturesque villages, face testing climbs and sweeping descents and take in incredible views. It is a challenging 185-mile route for even the most seasoned club rider looking to push beyond a one-day sportive. Or for those looking to take it at a more leisurely pace, it provides the perfect weekend away to enjoy with friends.
Riders set off clockwise from Lee Valley Athletics Centre through central London early on Saturday morning passing Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast and Crystal Palace. After clearing the city, they will head out into the stunning climbs and descents of the North Downs before heading west towards Windsor Great Park and the overnight camp at Ascot Racecourse. On the first day riders will cover 100 miles and climb 4,049 feet.
The second day is shorter covering 85 miles and climbing 3,556 feet. Cyclists will ride through Marlow, along the Thames Valley through historic villages and quaint market towns. Hitting the highs of the Chilterns and riding through Epping Forrest, riders will finish at Lee Valley completing the 360 degree revolution.
There is a range of packages on offer over the weekend. Two days cycling including camping costs £189; two days cycling excluding camping costs £109; day 1 or day 2 including camping costs £139. Cyclists can also choose to ride one of the days for £59.
