Here’s a bright idea. An “electric apparel” startup in San Diego, California, has developed what they are claiming to be the world’s brightest hi viz cycling jacket.
The basis for their claim is that their hi viz cycling jacket has 250 LEDs embedded inside the waterproof fabric. This is the result of two years work to create connections that survive cycling use, as well as producing a housing system for the LEDs to protect them from physical shock and the elements.
The hi viz cycling jacket features:
- Turn signals on back, front and sides
- 12 hour battery life (or charge your phone up to 5 times)
- Easily detachable hood and sleeves
- 6 Pockets including quick access water bottle pocket
- 360° Reflective material
- Waterproof fabric
- Machine Washable
- Brightness and flashing variations
The Noor Kickstarter project starts today and will run for 30 days (18th February). There are limited early bird quantities which are placed at a lower price and delivered sooner. If you think it is worth helping Noor to get started and reach their goal to bring cycling awareness to light, head over to Kickstarter.
This concept for a hi viz cycling jacket did not meet its funding target, reaching just $12,398 of the $99,500 funding target.
