Anything London can do, Ipswich can do too!
After the Prudential RideLondon 2015 a week ago, it’s nearly time for the Sky Ride Ipswich, with a 5 km route around the waterfront and the town centre on traffic free roads. It’s been great fun in previous years and promises to be even better this time round.
Sign up in advance and then register your arrival on the day – Sunday 23rd August from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Sky Ride Pass you will be issued gets you a free Sky Ride Bib, as well as a free bike check at the Halfords tent, and a half priced coffee at the Ride Social Café. British Cycling also have an area, where you can get cycling tips for safer and better riding as well as videos to help you.
Women riders can check past the “Breeze” area, where they stand a chance of winning a hamper of women’s cycling goodies.
A number of cities around the world have “Critical Mass” events, where they try to get as many cyclists on to a town or city’s roads to push for more space for cycling. Thanks to Sky, British Cycling, and Ipswich Borough Council, you can experience what it is like to cycle around the town centre without having to worry about motorised traffic. It really is a great experience for adults and children alike and you get a different perspective on Ipswich on two (or three) wheels. And there’s loads of things to do.
See you there?
