The UK’s largest online cycling and tri-sports retailer, Wiggle, is opening its 3rd centre in Cambridge on Thursday 23rd April. Like the two centres which are already open in St Albans and Milton Keynes, the Cambridge one will be located in Homebase and will follow the same format offering bike service and repair, sales advice from a team of cycle experts, and the increasingly important web sales feature of “click-and-collect” (and return, if needs be) Wiggle orders, where bikes purchased online from Wiggle can be delivered to the Cambridge store free. It will also be possible to order in store and collect the next day.

Understandably, Cambridge has been identified by Wiggle as one of the country’s cycling hotspots. As a major online retailer, Wiggle already has a substantial client and fan base in the area; their total client base is spread across 100 countries – quite some growth since their start in 1999.

Wiggle are tempting clients old and new with an introductory offer of a FREE bronze service for their bike. Heather Powell, Wiggle Retail Development Director, commented “We are delighted with how quickly the Wiggle Workshop concept has been adopted by cyclists and by the increasing customer demand. Success to date has exceeded expectations and we are currently assessing other sites in cycle hot spots that might be suitable for this concept than provides an on-the-ground manifestation of the Wiggle brand.

The new Wiggle Workshop is at Unit 10 – Cambridge Retail Park, 254 Newmarket Road, Cambridge CB5 8JL.

Wiggle sells a wide range of sports products and brands through its websites. The company prides itself on only stocking goods that its staff have tested and can recommend.

Note that Wiggle’s introductory offer has changed slightly since first publication.
