World Championships Sportive


The Official UCI 2019 Road World Championships Sportive on 22nd September 2019 in Harrogate, Yorkshire, has just been announced. It has been 37 years since the World Championships last came to the UK, making this a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of the historical event and cycle the same roads as the professionals as they compete for the prestigious Rainbow Jersey.

Set in stunning scenery through the Yorkshire Dales, the official world championships sportive will start and finish in Harrogate and take 5,000 lucky cyclists on a journey through the natural beauty of some of the best UK cycling including large sections of the UCI World Championship professional courses. All routes will ride the Harrogate circuit before any of the pros. The maiden Team Time Trial Mixed Relay will follow on from the world championships sportive, also departing from Harrogate ensuring the sportive will get the classic Yorkshire welcome and support. On finishing every participant will get a specially designed medal and then they can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere of the UCI 2019 World Championships. The perfect day of cycling.

Huge demand is expected for this one-off event so, a ballot ticketing system will be used for this unique World Championships Sportive. Cyclists wanting to be involved will be asked to log their interest via the website  on 4th March with the ticket allocation happening on the 20th March. There will be three routes (Long 145km; Medium 98km; Short 72km) available, suiting all abilities and experience.
